Treatments

All container deliveries of unseasoned timbers are subject to Antistain Treatment with Wolsin® FL (Wollmann/BASF) all year round, including winter period. Wolsin® FL protects freshly sawn timbers for several months against infection by wood discolouring fungi. The high effectiveness of Wolsin® FL has been confirmed experimentally in the laboratory and by international field tests under a wide variety of climatic conditions (e. g. New Zealand, Australia, USA, Canada, Malaysia, China and Germany).

Upon request timbers can be offered being Heat-treated 56/30 (as per ISPM 15) supported with fully recognized/tracable Heat Treatment Certificates.

ISPM 15 - International Standards For Phytosanitary Measures No. 15 (ISPM 15) is an International Phytosanitary Measure developed by the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC). Timber is heated in kilns to a level whereby its core has a temperature of 56c and this temperature is sustained for at least 30 minutes. Kiln charts are supplied in order to support the process.

The preservative penetrates deep into the wood with the help of vacuum and pressure. In this case a vacuum is initially generated in the cell cavities thereby evacuating the air inside them. The cavities are then filled with preservative solution which is forced into the wood under high pressure.

Fumigation available with Magnesium Phosphide (Phosphine gas) 5 g/m3 for 120 hrs supported with fully recognized/tracable Fumigation Certificates.
